Celebrating the completion of improvement works
At long long last we have completed the 10 year programme of improvements to the Hall and at a recent Joint Meeting of Trustees, Committee Members and Stakeholders we celebrated the event with a look back over the years to revisit our achievements. Pat Fitzgerald told us that over the three phases of works the Pannal Village Hall have raised £724,000 to invest in our facilities, with headline achievements as follows: - All led by volunteers - Now have 5 rooms to let instead of one - Building is in good order and well insulated. - New level access Toilet Block and better storage. - Reduced running costs and lower energy use. - Good revenue income to secure the Village Hall for the future. The icing on the cake has been the completion of our now permanent War Memorial area under the cherry trees with the Tommies and Poppies that have subtle nighttime illumination, plus the newly paved seating area with sponsored seats by local donors. We’d like to express our huge thanks to all those who have supported us over the years and especially to those who gave us grant funding so generously and had confidence in us to deliver on the long list of improvements for this great community facility.

Magic returns to the Pannal Village Hall!
Magic returns to the Pannal Village Hall next month (Fri 9th June, 7:30pm), with the new 'work in progress' show Impossibilities , presented by Forster and Smith (both established entertainment professionals and members of the Harrogate Society of Magicians) in advance of their appearance at the Durham Fringe Festival in July. Witness an incredible show full of incomprehensible mind reading and bewildering magic creating a truly memorable evening of impossibilities! Working in collaboration with the Pannal Village Hall Committee, with the aim of providing excellent entertainment for the local community, all proceeds from the ticket sales will be put towards the upkeep of the Pannal Village Hall. Not suitable for under 13's. May contain flashing lights. Tickets are available now [(click here)](https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/pannal-village-hall/impossibilities-wip-an-evening-of-magic-and-mind-reading/e-qpkzqy) so get yours now, before they 'disappear'! Q. Why a work in progress show? A. Forster & Smith are taking their brand new version of Impossibilities to the superb Durham Fringe Festival in July. Like many live entertainers, work in progress shows are designed to test the show in front of a live audience before taking the show on tour, giving the performers the opportunity to explore new ideas. This doesn't mean the show isn't performance ready. This is a full working show, presented by professional entertainers, so you can expect the same top class entertainment that you would see from any professional show.

Weddings and Events return to the Village Hall
It has been fantastic to see the return of larger scale events to the Pannal Village Hall this year, especially after the challenges of the last three years. As well as being a key space for our regular users, the recently re-vamped Main Hall has seen an increase in one off events over the last few months, with the flexibility and technical capabilities of the Hall making it as appealing a venue for large scale wedding receptions as it is for childrens birthday parties. The attached photos show a lovely example of how the space can be 'dressed' for any occasion and can accomodate a number of guests in a variety of layouts, including table seating. And don't forget there are additional rooms available, both upstairs and downstairs, for breakout spaces when needed. If you are interested in finding out about how the Pannal Village Hall might be a suitable venue for your next event, please don't hesitate to get in touch via the our Contact Us form https://www.pannalvillagehall.co.uk/contact.

Evening of Magic raises over £500 for charity
On Saturday 26th November 2022, the Harrogate Magicians Society, in collaboration with the Pannal Village Hall Committee, put on a spectacular Evening of Magic, Mystery and Illusion in the Main Hall, in support of The Motor Neurone Disease Association. Celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Harrogate Magicians Society, the sell out event saw 75 punters enjoy an evening full of comedy, mystery and a mix of classic and modern magic, with a bit of mind reading thrown in for good measure. Raising over £575 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (Yorkshire Dales Branch), including an interval auction of four Leeds Rhinos Super League tickets, the event was a huge success, with positive feedback received from everyone that attended (especially those that 'volunteered' to be part of one of the tricks). The Harrogate Magician Society (harrogatemagic.co.uk) includes a mix of professional, semi-pro and amateur magicians, each with their own style and approach to magic and illusion. Many of the performers are available for hire - please see the links below if you are interested in booking a magician for your next event: www.gcmagic.co.uk www.zenmagic.co.uk www.robhutchinsonmagic.co.uk www.forsterandsmith.co.uk

MEMORIAL GATE RESTORED!
We've been busy during "lock down" and one of our proudest acheivements has been the resoration of the old Memorial Hall gate! Originally lost and then rediscovered at the back of the old boiler house, this beautifully carved oak gate used to be the main entrance to the original Memorial Institute Hall then only accessible off Station Road and well before Pannal Bank was built! Sponsored by Committee Memebers Mike Briggs and Mel Raine (pictured) the project has been done during the winter months with help from our local joiner who has restored this artifact to its former glory. The original enscriptions, commemorating both World Wars are carved into the gate and can once again be clearly read. Mel has now rehung the gate in our Pannal Bank boundary fence where it can be best viewed by the passing public.
